Reflection from Fr. Taylor: The Epiphany of the Lord

Today’s Gospel gives us a glimpse of the glory that we still celebrate of the Nativity and Epiphany of our Lord that was present from the beginning.

As the 3 Kings visited the manger in the stable, they knew that their lives would never be the same again.  They also realized His coming in this world did not necessarily destroy the power of evil.  As we begin and celebrate this new year  it has all the promises that God can offer, but at the same time it challenges us to take a look at our own lives where we can better this year than 2016.  We face many challenges in this coming year, but none that God can’t work out in and through us.

Hopefully we have made some good resolutions that will help us along the way.  Our mission will continue to be to evangelize, to be good friends, to serve those who need to be served, and to always remember the poor and the dispossessed.  Our church must always be an extension of our family, and of our love.

We live with God leading us all the way, we know that we will be successful during this year.  As we continue to gather at the manger and worship the newborn Savior let us also realize that He is the one who will show us that star and seeing that star we will be lead by Him to help Him redeem the world.
