Fr. Metzler’s Memorial Mass: Thank You!

The Mass commemorating the first anniversary of Fr. Warren Metzler’s death was on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at 10 am.

It was an opportunity to thank God for the many gifts Fr. Metzler gave each of us during his long tenure at St. James. We remembered his leadership, guidance, compassion, concern for social justice and peace, and the many, beautiful ways he brought us all closer to God. His legacy lives in each member of the St. James Parish family.

Thank you… the planning committee (Anne Kovalan-Santoni, Lori Melton, Cathy Raffaele, Kathy Savarino; hospitality; Ronnie Corpuz for the donation of flowers; Fr. Taylor for presiding and for  his homily, in which he talked about Fr. Metzler making moral choices;  Mike Myers for facilitating the sharing during Mass; Mary & Marty Reidell who led the congregation in singing Father’s favorite hymns; everyone who helped with the reception, including our youngest volunteer, Charlie.

It was a beautiful day to celebrate the life of someone who gave so much to St. James and the parish community
